Miwa Sakai
Born in 1956. After working as an assistant to renowned artists such as Yasuko Aoike and Suzue Miuchi, Sakai made her debut in issue #9 of Hana to Yume magazine in 1978.
Specializing in romance-themed manga, she continues to explore various romantic scenarios through her diverse stories.
Her comic essay Miwa Sakai's Shōjo Manga War Chronicles (published by Akita Publishing Co., Ltd) candidly reveals behind-the-scenes stories of her assistant days and the inner workings of shōjo manga production.
