Reservations are accepted until October 31st.
This paperback-sized weekly calendar features memorable passages from Keiichiro Hirano's various novels.
We started producing this calendar with the concept of "a calendar that allows you to carry novels more casually in your daily life," and thanks to your support, this year marks our third year.
We have received some encouraging feedback from users, such as, "I read it every day to savor the week's sentence," "I've made it a habit to start my week by reading it before work on Mondays," and "It gives me the opportunity to reread novels and wonder what context this passage is in."
This year, based on your requests, we have carefully selected passages from 15 previously published novels, as well as passages from four carefully selected critiques and essays. You can enjoy one gem of a passage each week, for a total of 53 passages.
We hope you enjoy a new reading experience as you carefully study each and every sentence written by Hirano Keiichiro.
[A selection of memorable passages]
The book includes selections of 15 novels from his debut work, "Eclipse" (1998), to his latest work, "True Feelings" (2021), as well as excerpts from four new books: "How to Read a Book," "How to Read a Novel," "What is Me? From 'Individual' to 'Dividend'," and "What is 'Cool'?"
The selected passages based on the readers' votes include a variety of long and short sentences. They are words that give you strength every day, change the way you look at your daily life, and make you want to reread the novel. They are words that suddenly stay in your mind in your daily life.
[Starting this year, we will be posting the anniversaries of each work]
The publication date can be considered the birthday of each work.
We don't usually pay much attention to the publication date of a book, but it would be interesting to think back once a year to the day that the work was released into the world as a book. In honor of "Funeral," we will also list the birthdays and death dates of Chopin and Delacroix.
You can also use it as a simple memo section.
[Size and specifications that match any use]
It is made like a thin paperback book and fits comfortably in your hand.
The thread-sewn codex binding is easy to open and is also suitable for display. It opens 180 degrees for easy viewing, and will stay that way even if you let go of it.
You can place it on a book stand, open it on your desk, or carry it around and use it as a simple diary. Enjoy it however you like.
