木下晋也
Shinya Kinoshita
Since his debut in 2006, he has been drawing comedy manga filled with a laid-back atmosphere, unruffled and at his own pace. He finds his subjects from everyday life that everyone knows, so every panel is full of that "it's true!" feeling. He expresses eyes with just one line and draws different characters with the bare minimum of touch. It's amazing how each character's personality and emotions can be conveyed so clearly from such a simple drawing style. He may be reviving the traditional Japanese drawing technique known as "hikime (inverted eyes) and hooked nose (hooked nose)" that has been used since the Heian period... or maybe.
